It is native to South Africa and is a member of the family Portulacaceae. This plant grows in a rosette form, with fleshy leaves that are green in the center and edged with shades of pink and cream, giving the appearance of a sunrise.
 
'Sunrise' has typical watering needs for a succulent, but it is sensitive to over-watering. It's best to use the “soak and dry” method, and allow the soil to dry out completely between watering. They do best in areas that receive plenty of bright, partial sunlight. They can also tolerate full sun but needs to be acclimated to full sun to prevent sunburn. Less mature plants and baby plants are more susceptible to sun damage than mature plants.
