Cereus Tetragonus 'Fairy Castle' Variegated, often simply referred to as the Variegated Fairy Castle Cactus, is a captivating and unique succulent. This slow-growing, compact cactus is renowned for its whimsical, castle-like structure and striking variegation.

    Key Characteristics:

    • Growth Habit: Typically reaches a height of around 15 cm (6 inches) over 2-3 years. It grows in a dense, clustered fashion, resembling miniature turrets and spires.
    • Variegation: The most distinctive feature is its variegated foliage, showcasing patches of green, white, and sometimes even pink or yellow. This variegation adds a touch of color and visual interest.
    • Spines: Adorned with small, white spines along its five sides, providing a textured appearance.
    • Flowers: While rare, under optimal conditions, it may produce large, white, nocturnal flowers.

    Care Tips:

    • Sunlight: Thrives in full sun or bright, indirect light.
    • Watering: Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Reduce watering frequency during the winter months.
    • Soil: Use a well-draining cactus or succulent potting mix.
    • Fertilizer: Apply a diluted cactus fertilizer in the spring to encourage growth.
    • Potting: Choose a small, unglazed clay pot to help regulate moisture.
