Euphorbia - Meloformis aka Melon Spurge
Euphorbia meloformis is a small succulent with green spherical to cylindrical stems with 8 to 12 ribs and usually with many spinescent, simple or branched peduncles. The stems grow up to 8 inches (20 cm) tall and up to 6 inches (15 cm) in diameter, usually solitary or occasionally producing offsets from the base. Young plants have leaves that sometimes dry out quickly. This species is similar to Euphorbia obesa but has small yellow flowers on up to 2.4 inches (6 cm) long peduncles that dry and persist on the plant after blooming.Water deeply, but don't let them sit in wet soil, which can cause root rot. As it is a Euphorbia, care must be taken when handling these plants. White sap emerges from leaf breaks, and this sap is poisonous.
