The combination of blue-green leaves with deep burgundy spotting give this plant its extremely purple colour. This spectacular variety produces an arching rosette of thick sturdy leaves which create a very architectural look.  Not only will Agave Purple People Eater effortlessly handle sun and heat, but its' spectacular colours are best brought out in bright sunny areas. Without enough light, the brilliant spotting and colours will reduce. Simply return to a sun soaked area to restore colour.
 
Mangaves are plants formerly given the nothogenus name × Mangave. They are derived from hybridizing species in the genus Agave and the former genus Manfreda. Manfreda is now included in Agave, so the scientific name is obsolete.
